PDF Pop-Up

I just came across a brilliant new software program that adds a pop-up in a pdf Report.

Any pdf Report produced can now incorporate an opening pop-up message, an opening pop-up link to a web page; a closing pop-up message and closing pop-up link to a webpage. The user can control these and switch them off after the first viewing so they don’t become intrusive.

This is a great way of adding interaction to a Report without having to create a .exe e-book that many people don’t like downloading and opening (virus issues I guess).

The software downloads very quickly – there’s a help pdf that is very clear, although to be honest it is so simple to use you don’t really need the instructions.

The only thing to be careful of is that the Creater and another file HAVE to be in the same folder for the program to work. So don’t have the program on your desktop without the supporting file.

The best way to appreciate what this software does is to see it in action by downloading my free Opt-In Tips Report and following the pop-up inside.

If you can’t wait read more at PDF Pop-Up.

I highly recommend this one.

10 Blog Traffic Tips

I’ve been following Yaro Starak – The Blogging King – (that’s Yaro’s description of himself not Wizzer’s although he may well be right!) for some time and really like his style of writing. Here is an article he wrote about Blog traffic which I hope you find useful.

Yaro

It’s always good to put a face to a name – here’s Yaro himself

In every bloggers life comes a special day – the day they first launch a new blog. Now unless you went out and purchased someone else’s blog chances are your blog launched with only one very loyal reader – you. Maybe a few days later you received a few hits when you told your sister, father, girlfriend and best friend about your new blog but that’s about as far you went when it comes to finding readers.

Here are the top 10 techniques new bloggers can use to find readers. These are tips specifically for new bloggers, those people who have next-to-no audience at the moment and want to get the ball rolling.

It helps if you work on this list from top to bottom as each technique builds on the previous step to help you create momentum. Eventually once you establish enough momentum you gain what is called “traction”, which is a large enough audience base (about 500 readers a day is good) that you no longer have to work too hard on finding new readers. Instead your current loyal readers do the work for you through word of mouth.

Top 10 Tips

10. Write at least five major “pillar” articles. A pillar article is usually a tutorial style article aimed to teach your audience something. Generally they are longer than 500 words and have lots of very practical tips or advice. This article you are currently reading could be considered a pillar article since it is very practical and a good “how-to” lesson. This style of article has long term appeal, stays current (it isn’t news or time dependent) and offers real value and insight. The more pillars you have on your blog the better.

9. Write one new blog post per day minimum. Not every post has to be a pillar, but you should work on getting those five pillars done at the same time as you keep your blog fresh with a daily news or short article style post. The important thing here is to demonstrate to first time visitors that your blog is updated all the time so they feel that if they come back tomorrow they will likely find something new. This causes them to bookmark your site or subscribe to your blog feed.

You don’t have to produce one post per day all the time but it is important you do when your blog is brand new. Once you get traction you still need to keep the fresh content coming but your loyal audience will be more forgiving if you slow down to a few per week instead. The first few months are critical so the more content you can produce at this time the better.

8. Use a proper domain name. If you are serious about blogging be serious about what you call your blog. In order for people to easily spread the word about your blog you need an easily rememberable domain name. People often talk about blogs they like when they are speaking to friends in the real world (that’s the offline world, you remember that place right?) so you need to make it easy for them to spread the word and pass on your URL. Try and get a .com if you can and focus on small easy to remember domains rather than worry about having the correct keywords (of course if you can get great keywords and easy to remember then you’ve done a good job!).

7. Start commenting on other blogs. Once you have your pillar articles and your daily fresh smaller articles your blog is ready to be exposed to the world. One of the best ways to find the right type of reader for your blog is to comment on other people’s blogs. You should aim to comment on blogs focused on a similar niche topic to yours since the readers there will be more likely to be interested in your blog.

Most blog commenting systems allow you to have your name/title linked to your blog when you leave a comment. This is how people find your blog. If you are a prolific commentor and always have something valuable to say then people will be interested to read more of your work and hence click through to visit your blog.

6. Trackback and link to other blogs in your blog posts. A trackback is sort of like a blog conversation. When you write a new article to your blog and it links or references another blogger’s article you can do a trackback to their entry. What this does is leave a truncated summary of your blog post on their blog entry – it’s sort of like your blog telling someone else’s blog that you wrote an article mentioning them. Trackbacks often appear like comments.

This is a good technique because like leaving comments a trackback leaves a link from another blog back to yours for readers to follow, but it also does something very important – it gets the attention of another blogger. The other blogger will come and read your post eager to see what you wrote about them. They may then become a loyal reader of yours or at least monitor you and if you are lucky some time down the road they may do a post linking to your blog bringing in more new readers.

5. Encourage comments on your own blog. One of the most powerful ways to convince someone to become a loyal reader is to show there are other loyal readers already following your work. If they see people commenting on your blog then they infer that your content must be good since you have readers so they should stick around and see what all the fuss is about. To encourage comments you can simply pose a question in a blog post. Be sure to always respond to comments as well so you can keep the conversation going.

4. Submit your latest pillar article to a blog carnival. A blog carnival is a post in a blog that summarizes a collection of articles from many different blogs on a specific topic. The idea is to collect some of the best content on a topic in a given week. Often many other blogs link back to a carnival host and as such the people that have articles featured in the carnival enjoy a spike in new readers.

To find the right blog carnival for your blog, do a search at http://blogcarnival.com/.

3. Submit your blog to blogtopsites.com. To be honest this tip is not going to bring in a flood of new readers but it’s so easy to do and only takes five minutes so it’s worth the effort. Go to Blog Top Sites, find the appropriate category for your blog and submit it. You have to copy and paste a couple of lines of code on to your blog so you can rank and then sit back and watch the traffic come in. You will probably only get 1-10 incoming readers per day with this technique but over time it can build up as you climb the rankings. It all helps!

2. Submit your articles to EzineArticles.com. This is another tip that doesn’t bring in hundreds of new visitors immediately (although it can if you keep doing it) but it’s worthwhile because you simply leverage what you already have – your pillar articles. Once a week or so take one of your pillar articles and submit it to Ezine Articles. Your article then becomes available to other people who can republish your article on their website or in their newsletter.

How you benefit is through what is called your “Resource Box”. You create your own resource box which is like a signature file where you include one to two sentences and link back to your website (or blog in this case). Anyone who publishes your article has to include your resource box so you get incoming links. If someone with a large newsletter publishes your article you can get a lot of new readers at once.

1. Write more pillar articles. Everything you do above will help you to find blog readers however all of the techniques I’ve listed only work when you have strong pillars in place. Without them if you do everything above you may bring in readers but they won’t stay or bother to come back. Aim for one solid pillar article per week and by the end of the year you will have a database of over 50 fantastic feature articles that will work hard for you to bring in more and more readers.

Hypnotic Salescopy

Before I knew anything about internet marketing I somehow found Dr Joe “Mr Fire” Vitale and subscribed to his list. Nothing unusual in that other than I had no interest whatsoever in running an internet business at the time but was totally taken in by his hypnotic sales copywriting.

Now Joe, self named Mr Fire because of his writing ability, turns out what for me are amongst the best letters – full ofJoe Vitale hooks, intrigue and they are 100% captivating. Over time I fell off his lists but yesterday (how he tracked me down I don’t know :) ) I received an email from him that is possibly THE BEST I’ve ever received.

**Joe, I’m sure you won’t mind me sharing this – I’ve left YOUR original links intact**

Here’s his email – in full – I’m showing it here as a study of his hypnotic salescopy not the product itself which I haven’t bought. I do not have an affiliate link to this product so if you buy Joe will benefit – maybe a thank you for sharing this incredible skill. Let me know what you think.

I begin this e-mail with a serious warning:

What I am about to disclose to you is something rarely discussed in the marketing world, outside of small mastermind groups who understand and respect the power that I’m about to share with you.

The information you are about to learn can be used for both good and evil. It can be used to control people’s buying decisions and create mass fortunes. However, I strongly encourage you…
do not abuse this power and only use it to the highest advantage of others.

With that said, what I am about to share with you is what may be the missing link that you have been searching for.

If you market any product on the internet, this will change the way you think about sales letters forever…

Now take a deep breath… and imagine…

Imagine being able to tap into a commanding ancient force so powerful that it instantly moves someone from being fully awake and aware to being in a deep trance-like hypnotic state the moment they see your creation.

The Egyptians realized how powerful this force was and lined the Royal Tombs of their fallen Kings with it.

Leonardo da Vinci harnessed the power and created the Mona Lisa and the Last Supper. His works of art still process this great power, and it can be witnessed today when observing others viewing his work.

And even today, if you know what you’re looking for, you can find a handful of television commercials lightly tapping into this force to tap into your subconscious mind.

A few of these techniques have actually been banned for over 30 years from television and movies.

But not on the internet…

Not in your sales letters…

Now I’m not talking about creating videos and flashing the word “buy now” quickly, or inserting images that flash for a tenth of a second that make people pull out their credit cards here.

I’m talking about something even more powerful.

It’s the power of images, also known in today’s world as “graphics”.

By using the right graphics on your sales letters, you can create more of a ‘sticky’ element to them.
Your visitors will stare at your page longer. And while scrolling through your images, your headlines are read. Testimonials are read. Your sales copy is read.

And before they know it, they have been transformed into a hypnotic-like state as if they were staring at an original work of art that they are in awe over.

To give you a better idea of what this hypnotic state feels like, think about the last time that you saw the car of your dreams go by. You watched it in awe as it drives past you. Think about a house that you saw that is truly the house of your dreams.

Think back to when you first saw them. Think about that feeling it created in the pit of your stomach. The excitement, the awe, and the feeling as if time stood still at that very moment. You may have imagined yourself driving that car… or living in that house.

This ancient raw power can be harnessed and placed into one of your sales letters, creating these hypnotic trance-like states for your website visitors. The this power can now be yours.

The power to have graphics for your sales letters that pull your visitors in, even before they read the first word on your site… it can be yours.

And today… for the first time ever… this power is now in your hands. The most hypnotic graphics package that I’ve ever seen created has launched today. See for yourself:

http://outrageous.dotdash.hop.clickbank.net

Look on the page and see if you can find one of the most hypnotic ‘pull-you-in’ elements that’ll instantly evoke the trance-like state. I’ll give you a hint – it’s near the middle of the page…

If all you do is use that one element, the amount of time someone spends on your website will no doubt move up a few notches… and maybe hundreds of notches.

http://outrageous.dotdash.hop.clickbank.net

Remember, do not abuse this power. Respect it and don’t overdue it. And most of all, enjoy it and all that comes with it.

Go for it.

Joe

P.S…. The site just launched today, so you are truly one of the first to see this…

What do you think? Captivating or what!

$7 Nonsense

I hate those $7 products that get banded around all over the place.

Not because they’re no good, although some of them really are appalling, but because they are SO easy to justify spending money on! It costs me more to leave my car in the station car park all day than these products so I tell myself I’ll walk rather than driving to cover the cost – do I do that? (Don’t let Jes know! – see blogroll)

My biggest problem with these products is the sales pages are great but normally the products are very lightweight or the obligatory One Time Offer (OTO) that follows the salespage is for a pile of worn out, no hope Private Label Rights (PLR) stuff that would never get read! I’ve got enough of that “must have – can’t live without” on my hard drive already.

Now don’t get me wrong, I think the $7 concept and script is brilliant. If the sales copy is good I’m just as likely to buy the thing as not and if I’m prepared to do it there will be a mass of others ready to do the same – who likes those McThingys anyway? But ultimately I still want to get something worthwhile rather than just parting with my cash.

So, today, with some trepidation I took The Hermit up on his email offer.

**SIDENOTE – I have a great deal of time for The Hermit as regular readers of Wizzer News will know – he’s one of the most genuine guys I’ve met on the web – always ready to help and he always over-delivers.**TunePros

But, it’s another $7 – OK, I really will walk to the station tomorrow…

..having downloaded the product I’m amazed, The Hermit has surpassed himself, this is worth 10 times the price!

I’ll fully review and let you have my detailed thoughts in the next few days but since the price is going up very soon (sorry, sounds like the usual closing down sale routine but is probably true) here’s the link to his sales page…

Migration to WordPress

Two months ago I decided to give WordPress a go with my new 6MProfitMethod blog rather than Blogger as I’d got used to. Why?

First I’d become concerned about blogger blogs getting wiped out overnight for no reason. Fact or Fiction? I don’t know but why take a chance.

Secondly, I’ve seen so many other blogs with great widgets and better control over themes that I decided to use a different platform.

I’m now hooked – it’s so much easier and I love the ability to go looking for a plug-in to add to resolve an issue.

Yesterday I decided to move WizzerNews from Blogger to Word Press. I haven’t worked out how to move the old posts yet (please leave a comment if you can help) but hope to do so very soon.

Graphic Design

What is most important – the end result or the manner in which it is achieved?

I am a great believer in service and going the extra mile. I deal with different companies everyday and frankly if any of them provide anything like an acceptable service (note I’m not talking about good service – just something I don’t have to complain about) then I am reasonably happy these days.

What a pleasure it is then, for me to write about EXCEPTIONAL service from someone with whom I have not even done any business – YET.

Mark McGimpsey at Graphic Design Marketing has this week provided me with outstanding help – none of which I asked for – with some graphics on one of my blogs. If the service he provides when you are paying is a fraction of what he provides when you are not then you will not be disappointed.

If you need website graphics, perhaps a header or e-book cover created, then give Mark a chance – he certainly won’t skimp on the service.

Lost in Belfast

I don’t know if any of you are from Belfast but regardless I thought I would see if I can help a friend of mine raise awareness of a site he has created to help people who have gone missing.

Obviously, the Madeleine McCann story has brought this into the public eye recently but it’s sad to say this is not an isolated occurrence.

Web 2.0 Promotion Tactics

Although I love the concept of Social Bookmarking (aka Web 2.0) and consistently use submissions to sites such as Digg & Stumble Upon as a means of generating interest in a subject, the time it takes to submit blog posts to the various social bookmarking sites has become something of a chore.

Today, however, I came across a great piece of software that completely automates the task potentially saving hours a week.

You simply enter your information once and at a click the post is submitted to all of the networking sites at once. No more logging in to each one manually!

There’s also a great bonus that comes with the software – I’ve not used it yet but it promises extra promotion via a group of content publishers. Read more here.
